Statements Tile & Stone

From July 2020 to February 2021, I was the Social Media and Website Manager for Statements Tile & Stone. As a tile wholesaler, we primarily interacted with interior designers, contractors, architects, etc. This meant that I had to come up with marketing strategies that appealed to different people within the design and construction industry.

Stats and Accomplishments

Within the first three months:

  • Instagram following grew by 9.8%

  • Average reach on Instagram increased by 28%

  • Average click rate on Mailchimp increased by 314%

Within the first six months:

  • Instagram following grew by 25%

  • Average monthly Pinterest impressions increased by 24%

  • Average rate of clicks per opens on Mailchimp increased by 200%

I created original newsletters to send out to our email list with different themes that featured our tiles. I featured a page in the body of the email, and then lead our audience to our website to see the remainder of the pages. This helped increase traffic to our website. The example below was also formatted for Instagram Stories so that I could publish the content on multiple platforms.

In order to increase more engagement and traffic to our website, I created blog posts featuring recent projects that clients shared with us. Our audience liked being able to see what our products look like in the “real world”, and these posts consistently had a click rate of at least 5% in Mailchimp.

Notes/Implemented Strategies:

  • Added an email capture pop-up on our website to grow our email newsletter list. This resulted in 7 new subscribers in the first week alone, whereas there was little to no growth before.

  • Communicating consistently with interior designers, contractors, etc. in order to get images of projects that featured our product. Not only did this provide new content for our social media and websites, but contributed to fostering our community. When we featured projects and tagged those involved, this typically resulted in them sharing our post with their audience as well.

  • Taking the time to make the website more consistent and user-friendly. Upon starting this position, I noticed that the product pages were inconsistent in the way they were formatted, the font sizes that were used, etc. This became an immediate priority to me because we have clients who frequently use our product and show our website to their own clients, and it was important that they saw consistency throughout our entire site.
